A Japanese man died after a bite from his pet hamster caused anaphylactic shock, Mainichi Shimbun reports. Ther nameless forty-something succumbed after repeated bites from the animal sensitised his immune system to such a degree that the final mouthful provoked a fatal bout of asthma.

An autopsy proved that the victim had suffered an acute reaction to protein contained in the homicidal hamster’s saliva. Shortly after the assault, he began to cough and wheeze. By the time he reached Saitama Red Cross Hospital, his heart and lungs had ceased to function

Man Accused Of Dressing Like, Stalking Cheerleaders

POSTED: 7:09 am EDT September 15, 2004

GREENSBURG, Pa. — Authorities in Greensburg say 48-year-old Robert Domasky used to draw stares for cloaking his masculine frame in the female cheerleader uniforms he liked to wear while delivering newspapers.

But now police say Domasky’s behavior has crossed the sometimes-thin line between the peculiar and the criminal.

Domasky is jailed on stalking, trespass and other charges after police say he sneaked into the girl’s locker room at Greensburg Salem High School on Sept. 3. Police say Domasky wanted to see if the school’s coach would teach him some cheers.

But after they investigated that, police say they learned that Domasky secretly took candid photographs of cheerleaders and women. They also say he forged or illegally obtained driver’s licenses, birth certificates and credit card accounts using the identities of several women with whom he apparently became smitten after casual encounters.

It’s not immediately clear if Domasky has an attorney. He faces a Sept. 23 preliminary hearing.

*for PS2 addicts, I know you understand*

quote from the following article
http://espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stark_jayson/1201283.html
“I believe we need to analyze some of the video atrocities committed on PlayStation2 or Dreamcasts, or even the Commodore 64, if we need to go back that far. Teammates play each other all the time on these platforms in baseball simulations, football and other head-to-head games. This creates all kinds of bad blood when the winner is not as gracious as he could be.”

2 wins, in ONE day????

So last night was our 11th and 12th games of softball for the fall season. Coming in 0-10 vs. a tough team, I’ll have to admit, things didn’t look good. This team beat our ASS in the summer league!
Monday’s games went a lot better. Still came out w/ 2 losses, but I think it’s the first time we looked like a real softball team. In yesterdays game, I can say that I dont remember any errors. It was nice not getting frustrated by dropped fly balls, flubbed grounders and bad overthrows. Everything was solid. And FINALLY, our hitting came around.
I went a total of 6 for 8, w/ EIGHT RBI’s.. hit for the cycle (w/ a 3 run *blast* over the left field wall)
It was crazy. No heads were hanging in shame like usually. It was such a good feeling to play well and come out w/ a win. the games monday, we lost 2 games by a total of 3 points :-(

ah well, we’re back baby!
